Sites That Inspired Us to Build Our Site!

Every web site begins with an idea.  Usually it is a compilation of ideas that you accumulate and develop until you have a solid concept for a site of your own.  I got my inspiration from many different areas but I wanted to give special credit to those sites that inspired my creativity.  I used my own photos (and a few stock) and graphics and artwork most of which I created using Photoshop.  I also learned how to write all my own code using the Point2 Agent platform with the help of their tutorials and a great book called Head First HTML by Freeman and Freeman.  I would literally read how to do something as I went along.  If I wanted a table I'd read about tables and search other sites that tell you how to write HTML for a particular purpose.  It was trail and error and took many months but I finally got everything to work in both Internet Explorer and Firefox.

NON REAL ESTATE BUT FABULOUS

Project Facade   - This is one of my all time favorite sites and was one I examined several times for inspiration in terms of colors, ideas, cool layout, etc.  If I was more skilled I would have tried some unique edges like they did on this site (they used torn paper).  The site consists of personal and surgical stories of servicemen who underwent pioneering surgical reconstruction to repair horrific facial injuries incurred in battle during the First World War.  It sounds boring I know but it shows where plastic surgery was truly pioneered.

TEXAS 

Luxury Homes  - Tamar Kielberg is a luxury and new homes specialist in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.  She is also a Certifed Luxury Home Marketing Specialist (CLHMS).  I loved the custom look and especially the colors she used in her site.  They inspired most of the colors in my own only I couldn't seem to find a way to make the purple highlights work for me.  If you are looking for luxury you definately want to check out her site!

Dallas Homes   - You can't talk about great real estate sites without taking a peek at Judy McCutchins site DallasHomes.com   She was one of the pioneers and early adoptees of the web and her site is wonderful.  You'll especially want to visit the "Chester Chronicles" section where her spokesperson (a dog) has quite a bit to say about life, real estate and Dallas!  She inspired me to believe I could create a custom site.

WYOMING

Jackson Hole Real Estate   - If you are searching for a home in Wyoming this is a MUST SEE site.  Their site was the inspiration for the "stock certificate" idea that we used in the header of our site although we created our own version of this concept.  They obviously know the Jackson Hole area inside and out and will surely be worth calling if you are looking for a home in Jackson Hole which appears simply fabulous by the way!  

ORLANDO

Orlando Homes

- Patty's home page inspired our opening "splash" page (which really has no splash).  She has a wonderful site and it is easy to find exactly what you need.  Patty uses cutting-edge technology and aggressive marketing strategies for her clients' advantage but she never loses sight of the importance of the one-on-one personal service and attention her clients deserve

CALIFORNIA

Santa Barbara Real Estate -  I just loved this site.  It is warm and inviting and easy to find your way around.  It was also the inspiration for breaking out our "Specialty Searches" by category.  These guys take it one step further and really let you fine tune your search to specific areas.  Tom Matheson and his team are clearly experts in the Santa Barbara area!  

ORLANDO
