Our Eight Charming Communities
About the Eight Muncipalities in the Webster & Kirkwood School Districts
Though the Webster Groves and Kirkwood area is often lumped into one category by those who are not from these parts, local residents will always remind you that the eight communities within the Webster Groves and Kirkwood school district boundaries are quite distinct.
Just ask a Webster Groves or Kirkwood resident what's so great about their community on the night before the annual Turkey Day football game and you'll discover that neither side is at a loss for words, or opinions as to which community has the most pride or who will be taking home the Frisco Bell that year.
It is also sometimes easy to forget that there are six additional smaller communities (seven if you include the tiny community of Huntleigh) that reside within these boundaries. Each with their own style, history and traditions as well.
They range in size from the City of Des Peres with nearly 8600 residents to the tiny community of Oakland which boasts approximately 1600 residents and shares many of its services with the City of Kirkwood.
Each of the links will provide our visitors with a glimpse into the character, qualities and history of each of the eight communities. There are links to Area Maps, Local Government, Virtual Community Tours, Historical Information, and Sales Trends and Data for local housing.
There are also links to some of our favorite local businesses and community events like the annual July 4th Extravaganzas, the Kirkwood Greentree Festival and the Webster Jazz Festival.
